Thanksgiving traditions continue at the Severson home. Grandparents Floyd and Frances traveled from Oregon to join us. Aimee and family also made trip from Oregon. Fortunately Kellyn and Chris families already near by. We started the week with attendance at the BYU vs San Jose football game followed by the Lion King broadway play in San Francisco ending with a great Thanksgiving feast. Numbers were a little smaller this year and the stomach flu was certainly not welcome. End of the week was capped off with purchase of Christmas tree(s) for Severson and Gagon households.

Early Snow Provo
We enjoyed short but fun few days in Provo. The first day was in 60's so fairly warm for November. That night a wind blew in storm that was rain eventually turned to snow. It was wet snow so very good for making snowmen. We attended BYU basketball game, enjoying our new padded seats at center court twelve rows up. The team did very well on defense but need to work more on scoring. Even so they won large victory.

Halloween 2012
Plenty of excitement to go around with the usual Halloween costumes, candy and the added bonus of the San Francisco Giants winning the baseball world series. The photos tell it all. A new record was set this year of 395 trick-or-treaters. Despite the drizzling rain starting about 8 pm, they still kept coming until 9:20 pm. We almost rain out of candy so had to only give out one piece to late arrivals. The Chris/Pam household reported also running out of their popcorn treats so resorted to recycling Kate's candy bag. This promoted big tears and protests, so the lunchtime fruit snacks had to do. Some special visitors were captured by photo. The night before I helped Kellyn with mission of mercy to make popcorn balls for all the cub scouts in Glen's den.

Notre Dame vs BYU
We attended the historic football game of BYU vs Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. It was a fun weekend joined by some family and friends. Aimee and Allen joined us at the Chicago airport, then drove together to Ben and Sarah Severson home outside Chicago in Evanston. Ben drove with us down to the football game. We enjoyed the beautiful Notre Dame campus and met up with Matt and Joanne Severson and a few other familiar faces. It had been pouring rain the day before but the sun peaked through the clouds for nice game day weather. Unfortunately the cougars lost but Aimee celebrated a nice birthday after the game at Five Guys.

St. George Marathon October 2012
The insanity of it all... Chris, Pam, Jonathan and Glen amazingly ran 26 miles to complete the St. George Marathon. For Chris it was his 7th one; Pam 3rd; 2nd one for Jonathan and first one for Glen. Plus Heather C. and Pam D. from church. Laura's family and I drove down afternoon before to cheer them on at mile 16 and finish line. Very impressive to take on and complete such a challenge. Chris qualified for Boston so may have to cheer for him on East Coast soon.
